Nationally Recognized Independent Research Laboratory in San Antonio, TX
Test Data of FP PLUS
Independent emissions and MPG testing.
*Note: Test run after only 500 miles of conditioning.
- J1321 test using 3 class 8 trucks using the same family of DD60 series engines as the test engine recorded fuel economy improvement as high as 3.38%.
- The SWRI /EPA DD60 series engine tests confirmed FP PLUS was able to decrease recorded BSFC -Baseline Specific Fuel Consumption by up to an average of 2.62% on test truck 520 and .75% on test truck 516.
- Most interesting data from J1321 test was on 6 laps on test truck 520 each lap used less fuel than the lap before while the control truck was inconsistent as shown below. Fuel consumption is measured in pounds consumed.
- In addition the emissions test conducted below also showed a 2% improvement in fuel economy during run with FP PLUS
Emissions Testing by this laboratory: EPA transient test sequence.
It must be noted here this EPA transient test cycle is done on a cell test engine that has never seen real world conditions and has zero carbon/varnish build up and has been flushed clean so the resulting emissions reduction is strictly the effects on the baseline low sulfur fuel.
Real world testing shows reductions up to 30%.
EPA Transient Test Sequence:
- NOx lowered 2% when compared to 2 post FP PLUS cycle runs.
- Calculated and field tests are showing much higher gains in MPG of diesels of all kinds.
- Throughout the test track and engine stand tests FP PLUS showed post use residual cleaning and performance gains indicating that upper cylinder cleaning effect is significant. i.e after the product was discontinued the effects slowly receded as emissions increased and MPG readings declined.
- THC- total hydrocarbon emissions remained stable after the #1 baseline non treated cycle was accomplished. Consistent use of FP PLUS SHOULD reduce this level. Using LC20 or high end synthetic oils could add to the improved results.
- CO – carbon monoxide emissions remained stable throughout the testing. Consistent use of FP PLUS could reduce these levels as in the THC,
***For the customer these are notable as both tests are controlled to the point of biasing the results against the additive.
- FP PLUS exceeds/passes all CAT fuels specs at the 1 - 5 treat rate. Sediment and aromatics not tested.
- The data below shows that with a low treat rate of FP PLUS cleans, lowers deposits formation, and adds lubricity to low sulfur fuels without increasing sulfur levels or use of organometallic additives.
- Diesel fuel w / FP PLUS @ 1 - 5 treat rate: Using April 2005 CAT distillate diesel fuel specs as guide.
- Aromatics: D1319 35%max Gasoline test was 25.9% gasoline PASS, calculated diesel level much lower than gasoline level.

- Gums and Resins D381 10mg per 100mL max 0.5 for 1 -10 in regular pump gasoline, calculated to be even less in diesel application calculated pass
- Lubricity : D6079 HFRR lowered wear at 1-5 treat rate .37mm. Important for increasing lubricity in lower sulfur fuels. High heat at injector tip ( can weld plunger to barrel ) additives must add lubricity for longevity and proper operation. Well below CAT limit, .52 mm @140F allowance by ASTMD6079. PASS
- Gross Heat of Combustion D240 19406 , 1-5 treat rate = 19429
